The Iranian Revolutionary Guard's naval force has released an image claiming to show American military ships, asserting that U.S. military movements in the region are 'under full control,' and issuing a renewed threat to the U.S. Navy.
In a commentary accompanying the image, the naval command stated that 'the movements and preparations of the U.S. military are under full control,' adding that 'Americans are moving ever closer to zero hour for the commencement of our operations against the naval units of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).'
These statements are part of the ongoing escalation between Tehran and Washington, amid exchanged threats and military operations in the region.
CENTCOM previously announced that strikes initiated by U.S. forces since July 8 were in response to what it described as Iranian moves targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Subsequently, Iran responded with attacks targeting American bases and interests across several Middle Eastern countries.
This escalation reflects the continued tension between the two sides, as fears rise over the conflict extending to include more military targets and vital sea passages in the Gulf and the region.
