Trump stated on the "Truth Social" platform, "Benjamin Netanyahu will not be detained in any manner while he is in the United States," responding to the controversy sparked by New York City Mayor Zahran Mamdani's remarks about exploring the legal possibilities of arresting him.
Mamdani had previously stated that he was unsure whether he possessed the legal authority to issue an order to the New York Police Department to detain a foreign head of government but confirmed that his legal team is examining the matter in case Netanyahu visits the city during the UN General Assembly session.
In another context, Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that "every time Iran kills an American soldier, it will pay a multiple cost," signaling the escalating military confrontation between the two nations.
The U.S. president added that he has given direct instructions to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Daniel Kinn, and top military leaders to implement this directive and take appropriate actions in response to any targeting of American forces.
