U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Jordan in the wake of an attack that resulted in the deaths of several American soldiers on its soil. Trump suggested that the incident might not have occurred if the U.S. forces had been directly responsible for the task.
These remarks came during Trump's meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, where he stated that "something managed to cross Jordanian territory," adding that this "would not have happened if American forces were in charge."
The American President further said, "When you let others do your job, things do not always go well," which was perceived as criticism of the handling of the attack targeting U.S. forces.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the attack led to the deaths of U.S. soldiers and the destruction of a radar system in Jordan. They also claimed to have targeted Amazon facilities in Bahrain in response to U.S. strikes on sites within Iran.
The Revolutionary Guard criticized U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, accusing him of concealing the true number of casualties and asserting that the Iranian response was a retaliation against American attacks, as articulated in their statement.
The Jordanian army, on the other hand, reported that their air defense forces intercepted and downed three missiles fired from Iranian territory on Monday evening. They noted that the interception operation resulted in no injuries or material damage, despite explosions being heard in several areas.
These developments come amid continuing military escalation between the United States and Iran, as the scope of conflict broadens to include multiple regional countries, raising concerns over increasing regional tensions.
