UNIFIL Flags Fragile Security Situation in South Lebanon

In a statement, UNIFIL reported: "Peacekeepers continue to monitor daily airspace violations over Lebanon and military activities on the ground. Yesterday, UNIFIL recorded the firing of 113 projectiles by the Israeli army, marking the highest number since June 21.
Despite a significant reduction in violence compared to previous months, the overall situation remains fragile. Peacekeepers persist in monitoring developments and reporting them to the Security Council, maintaining operational tempo, and engaging with parties to help reduce tensions.
Commitment to Resolution 1701, alongside dialogue and coordination, remains crucial for de-escalation and is a key component for restoring full stability in South Lebanon."
