Israel's Channel 12 has reported, citing sources, that the head of Mossad has decided to dismiss the leaders of two divisions within the agency as part of an internal review of the units and leadership performance over the recent period.
According to the report, these decisions followed evaluations conducted by Mossad on the outcomes of executed operations. The agency's chief held the dismissed officials accountable for their failure to meet the assigned objectives, without revealing their identities or the nature of the operations under assessment.
The report indicated that this move is part of ongoing administrative changes in the agency over the past months. Channel 12 had previously mentioned the dismissal of Mossad's deputy chief following a review of a project with a substantial budget aimed at destabilizing the Iranian regime.
At that time, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, in a statement on behalf of Mossad, explained that the leadership changes are part of the chief's plan to form a new leadership team to carry out tasks and handle upcoming challenges.
Israeli media had also previously reported on secret operations aimed at supporting opposition groups within Iran, mentioning that these plans involved international intelligence cooperation before they were eventually suspended, according to the reports.
