Last Saturday, Commander-in-Chief Al-Zaidi chaired an urgent security meeting to address regional security developments, affirming Iraq's commitment to preventing its territories from being used for aggression or threats against neighboring countries.
An official statement noted that during the meeting, Al-Zaidi emphasized the prevention of any transgressions or threats originating from Iraqi lands toward neighboring nations. He ordered the formation of a joint security committee to tackle security challenges and create deterrent measures to prevent potential breaches.
The Commander instructed security and military forces to enforce the law, bolster security and stability, and uphold their responsibilities in protecting Iraqi sovereignty and good neighbor relations.
The meeting affirmed the military’s readiness to thwart any attempts targeting neighboring countries in the regional sphere, reiterating Iraq’s commitment to not allowing its land to be used as a launch point or passage for aggression against friendly and allied states.
