Lebanese Parliament Session Highlights Amnesty Law Discussions

The Lebanese Parliament resumed its legislative session at the invitation of Speaker Nabih Berri to continue discussing drafts and proposed laws on the agenda.
Tuesday's session saw the passing of the abolishment of the death penalty and the media law.
The amnesty law caused a stir after Prime Minister Nawaf Salam refused to let Defense Minister Michel Mansy deliver a speech expressing the Lebanese Army's stance on the law. Salam stressed that the Prime Minister communicates the government's position.
Today, Salam wrote on the platform "X": "Towards reformative justice, not retributive justice. Congratulations on the abolition of the death penalty yesterday... and hoping for the general amnesty law to pass today."
