In response to recent Israeli attacks and statements by Hezbollah, a spokesperson from the U.S. State Department emphasized to MTV that "pursuing the pathway of experimental zones remains the only viable option for achieving long-term peace and security for Lebanon and Israel. We anticipate the completion of evacuation operations in the initial experimental zones by the Lebanese army, and once verified, this pathway will expand. Disarming Hezbollah is an integral part of this process."
The spokesperson added, "The United States will continue to support the trilateral framework, aligning with our interest in regional stability, preventing further conflicts, and President Donald Trump's agenda to foster peace among nations."
They continued, "Hezbollah has been the main obstacle to Lebanon's economic recovery, the sole blight on its international reputation, and the greatest threat to Lebanon's security and stability. It alone bears responsibility for the Israeli presence on Lebanese territory. This is precisely why Hezbollah must be disarmed and dismantled."
