Beirut Mayor Announces Major Upcoming Tenders After Meeting with Berri

Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, met with the Director General of Customs, Gracia Al-Qazzi, in Ain El-Tineh to discuss the operations of the customs directorate across various circles.

Furthermore, Berri held discussions with the prominent Jaafari Mufti, Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan, on the general situation, political developments, field activities, and national affairs.

Berri also received a delegation from Beirut's municipal council led by Ibrahim Zaidan, alongside member of the Development and Liberation Bloc, MP Mohammed Khawaja. The meeting focused on general conditions, particularly developmental issues, and the upcoming programs of the municipal council, including future projects.

Following the meeting, Beirut Mayor Ibrahim Zaidan stated: “Our visit to President Nabih Berri was to brief him on the Beirut municipal council's initiatives and achievements over the past year, particularly foundational work and the preparation of tenders that will be presented to the Public Procurement Authority. These tenders relate to roads, infrastructure, tree rehabilitation, parking lots, and more.”

He added: “All tenders will soon be announced publicly with transparency and competition. Among them, there will be a significant infrastructure tender worth over $25 million and one for addressing pollution, as well as other health and developmental projects.”

He concluded by expressing gratitude: “We thanked President Berri for his constant support to Beirut, especially during the challenges faced amid the Israeli aggression.”
