China Stresses Cooperation with Iran is Within International Law Amid U.S. Sanctions Threat

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has responded to U.S. threats of sanctions related to Iran, emphasizing that "Beijing's cooperation with Iran always adheres to international law."

On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian affirmed that China's collaboration with Iran is conducted within the framework of international law and should neither be interfered with nor disrupted.

During a press conference, the spokesperson stated that China is closely monitoring the developments and will take all necessary measures to firmly protect its rights and interests.

The United States announced on Monday that it had imposed new sanctions on 60 individuals, entities, and vessels, a move they claim will cut off Iran's economic lifeline, albeit stopping short of the harshest measures.
