Lebanese Cabinet to Convene on Budget Discussions Next Week

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is set to preside over a Cabinet session attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri and an array of ministers including those responsible for Culture, Defense, Energy and Water, Tourism, Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Economy and Trade, Displacement and Information Technology, Interior and Municipalities, Justice, Telecommunications, Youth and Sports, Education and Higher Education, Industry, Administrative Development, Labor, Public Works and Transportation, Agriculture, Media, Environment, and Public Health.

Notable attendees also include the Director-General of the Presidency, Antoine Chkeir, and the Secretary-General of the Cabinet, Judge Mahmoud Makkiyeh.

At the beginning of the session, Salam noted that the forthcoming week will involve consecutive meetings to present and discuss the budget. He reaffirmed that the topic of tenure for Lebanese University professors will be addressed in the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday, adhering to prior commitments.
