Beirut Port Achieves Record Container Movement Amid Extended Work Hours

The Shipping Agents Syndicate in Lebanon announced today a record-breaking achievement at the Port of Beirut, where over 2,400 containers were processed, exceeding the daily average. Of these, 1,100 containers were specifically marked for import.

In a statement, the syndicate attributed this success to the collaborative efforts of all relevant parties, including the Customs Administration, Port Security, the Container Terminal, and naturally, the management and operations team at the Port of Beirut. This achievement was particularly significant as it came following a decision to extend working hours for three days exceptionally. This decision was made to recover from delays caused by a malfunction in the customs' electronic system, which had previously paralyzed operations for two days at the start of the week.
