Washington has strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the recent attack on the city of Jizan, which threatened civilian infrastructure, according to "Akhbar Al Aan." The U.S. State Department stated in a release that "these actions by the Houthis are prolonging the conflict in Yemen," emphasizing that "while U.S. Special Envoy Tim Lenderking and U.N. Special Envoy Martin Griffiths are working together to bolster U.N.-led peace efforts, the actions of the Houthis exacerbate the suffering of the Yemeni people and threaten these efforts at a time when there is a commitment from the international community to end the conflict now."
