When a traveler collapsed at Newark Liberty International Airport, police received assistance from renowned television medical expert Dr. Mehmet Oz to revive the man.
The incident occurred late Monday night when Jeffrey Croawson, an airport authority official, saw the 60-year-old man fall to the ground near the baggage claim area. Croawson called emergency services and immediately began performing CPR on the elderly man, who was not breathing and showed no signs of pulse or life, according to the airport authority. When another person came to assist, Croawson did not immediately recognize him as Dr. Oz, the heart surgeon and host of "The Dr. Oz Show," who happened to be on the same flight. The two men performed CPR together on the injured man until three other officers arrived with an oxygen device and a defibrillator. The man eventually regained his pulse and was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and healthcare. Croawson later remarked, "What's better than having a heart surgeon beside you?"
