King Mohammed VI of Morocco ordered the dispatch of 40 tons of aid to Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip following recent violence. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the aid includes food, medical supplies, and blankets, and will be transported by military planes. Morocco also condemned "in the strongest terms the acts of violence committed in the occupied Palestinian territories, which only deepen the divide, fuel hatred, and distance peace prospects in the region." Morocco reiterated its support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Morocco had resumed relations with Israel in December under a U.S.-brokered agreement that also included U.S. recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara.
