French television channel (BFM) and radio (RMC) reported today, Tuesday, that French authorities arrested two individuals after a man slapped President Emmanuel Macron in the face during a walk with a crowd in the Drôme region of southeast France. The channel and radio shared a video circulating on Twitter showing a man wearing a green shirt, glasses, and a mask shouting "Down with Macron" before striking Macron on the face. The clip also shows Macron's security detail quickly intervening to pull the man to the ground and remove Macron from harm's way. Macron's team confirmed that a man attempted to slap the president.
