The German Association for Information Technology stated that data glasses currently represent the latest trend in technology; these glasses, which rely on Augmented Reality technology, display information within the wearer's field of vision. The association added that technology companies are currently working on developing data glasses to replace smartphones; for instance, the glasses will in the future display information and reviews about a restaurant while the user is standing in front of it with a blink of the eye. To make the glasses more suitable for everyday use, developers are currently working on making them smaller to resemble regular glasses while increasing battery life.
