New Revolutionary Drug Helps Lose 15% of Body Weight

A healthy diet and exercise are considered essential steps for weight loss, but sometimes a person needs an extra boost to get them on the right path to a healthy weight. Therefore, a new drug has been developed that research has proven to be safe and helps lose a significant amount of body weight.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the drug Wegovy after research showed it to be safer than other drugs and highly effective for weight loss. According to the Associated Press, Wegovy could be available to users in the U.S. in the near future.

Research funded by Wegovy found that the injectable drug has demonstrated unprecedented effectiveness in managing weight loss safely and enhances the effectiveness of sugar metabolism. The study found that individuals who used Wegovy lost an average of 15% of their body weight.

Dr. Harold Bays, Chief Science Officer at the Obesity Medicine Association, who helped conduct studies on the drug, stated, "With current medications, you can lose between 5% to 10% of your weight, and sometimes you might not lose that much, but our study conclusively demonstrated that Wegovy contributes to losing nearly 15% of body weight within a period of no more than 14 months."

Dr. Bays added, "Wegovy has another advantage of being safer than many drugs developed for weight loss."

Despite its superior efficacy, taking this drug may come with some side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting, which typically diminish over time. Researchers warned against the drug's use by individuals with a personal or family history of certain thyroid tumors and endocrine glands, according to the MSN website.
