The German Heart Foundation warned about the dangers of extreme heat during summer for heart patients, as it can lead to sudden drops in blood pressure, circulatory collapse, or heat stroke, which can be life-threatening. The foundation explained that the appearance of certain symptoms should raise alarms, such as feelings of fatigue and exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, muscle cramps, and heart rhythm disturbances.
If these symptoms are observed, it is essential to consult a doctor urgently to adjust medication doses and fluid intake. For patients with heart failure, it is important to avoid excessive fluid intake, as too much can worsen heart function. In general, heart patients should regularly monitor their blood pressure.
