Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdul Latif al-Zayani stated on Wednesday that the Kingdom of Bahrain is in communication with the new government in Israel to understand its policy "towards efforts to achieve peace in the region through resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions." The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that this communication comes "based on the Kingdom's approach of understanding, dialogue, and cooperation among peoples." The minister emphasized the importance of communication "within the framework of the declaration of support for peace signed between the two countries, to advance the peace process in the region for the security, stability, and prosperity of all its peoples." Bahrain had agreed to normalize relations with Israel in September 2020, becoming the second Gulf state to take this step after the UAE. The Crown Prince of Bahrain, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, congratulated the new Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Monday, expressing his wishes for success to the new government.
