UAE Provides Aid to Over 35,000 Families in Northern Lebanon

A delegation from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Beirut, has provided shopping vouchers to 35,600 Lebanese families in the northern Lebanon governorate. The aim is to alleviate their suffering in light of the worsening living and economic crisis faced by the Lebanese people, reflecting the significant humanitarian role played by the UAE in various brotherly and friendly countries through its humanitarian aid and relief initiatives.

A responsible source at the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation stated that "this humanitarian initiative comes under the directives of the wise leadership, to stand by the brothers in Lebanon to mitigate their suffering and assist them in facing daily living burdens." The source added that "the foundation aimed to provide assistance after consulting with embassy members in Beirut, ensuring that it was in the form of shopping vouchers rather than food parcels as usual, allowing beneficiaries to choose the food items they need. We also ensured that the aid reaches the largest segment of our Lebanese brothers in the northern governorate, its capital Tripoli, and its districts and municipalities."

For his part, the Chargé d'Affaires at the UAE Embassy in Lebanon, Fahd Al Kaabi, stated that "this assistance comes within the humanitarian role of the UAE and as part of the strategy of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works to support brothers and friends around the world."

Al Kaabi pointed out that this campaign began last week in the northern capital, Tripoli, and will continue throughout the month in other northern villages and towns by distributing approximately 35,600 shopping vouchers to 178,000 beneficiaries listed by the "Relief and Humanitarian Assistance Authority" affiliated with the Dar Al-Fatwa, which is the implementing agency for this project.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the UAE leadership, government, and people, and to the Khalifa Foundation for this significant assistance and humanitarian gesture that will help alleviate the suffering of tens of thousands of families amid the difficult living and economic conditions they are facing.
