The White House announced that U.S. President Joe Biden has canceled several decisions made by his predecessor, Donald Trump, in a single executive order, which includes measures related to the protection of monuments and social media regulation. Biden annulled the executive order regarding the protection of American monuments and statues, signed by Trump after the demolition of monuments honoring colonial-era figures amid nationwide protests against racism.
Additionally, Biden revoked the order for constructing a park of American heroes' statues, the order concerning the rebranding of U.S. aid provided abroad, and the order that protected officials from legal action for violating various regulations, as well as the order prohibiting internet censorship. All these canceled orders were signed by Trump between May 2020 and January 2021, shortly before Biden's inauguration.
According to the White House, Biden also rescinded a rule introduced by Trump that allowed immigration authorities to refuse residency permits on the grounds that an immigrant could become a "burden" on American taxpayers. Biden's announcement states that these changes do not serve the interests of the United States.
