Post-Corona Syndrome: Statistics and Medications Regarding Long COVID

Dr. Amjad Al-Haddad, an immunology consultant and official at the Serum and Vaccine Authority of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, stated that about 30% of individuals infected with the novel coronavirus experience long-term symptoms after recovering from the virus, which depends on the immune system's strength. Al-Haddad added to "Al-Ittihad" that zinc and vitamins can significantly boost immunity after recovering from the coronavirus, greatly reducing the chances of experiencing post-recovery symptoms from COVID-19, especially since these symptoms can range from respiratory issues to pneumonia and lung effects.

Al-Haddad pointed out that there are several diseases that may affect COVID-19 survivors post-recovery, including complete lung fibrosis. This can be clearly measured by the cases of actress Dalal Abdel Aziz or media personality Wael El-Ibrachy, both of whom were notably affected despite recovering from the novel coronavirus. Several studies have indicated that long COVID syndrome causes respiratory diseases in those who have recovered from the novel coronavirus, including conditions like diabetes, as well as effects on the kidneys, lung fibrosis, and increased complications in individuals with chronic diseases.
