Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi visited the site of the Spiker crime in Salah al-Din Province today, Wednesday, affirming that corruption, mismanagement, and wrong policies are the causes of these tragedies. The media office of the Prime Minister stated that "Al-Kadhimi visited the Spiker crime site and recited Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs," adding that "Al-Kadhimi said we will transform the site of the crime into a project and a museum of memory, honoring and commemorating the sacrifices of Iraqis and affirming their unity, and we will closely oversee these actions."
According to the statement, Al-Kadhimi mentioned, "This place witnessed one of the most heinous massacres that shames humanity, and the innocent blood that fell here awakened the Iraqi conscience among all segments of the people." He added, "This blood was a motivation for the great victory achieved by Iraqis against the fiercest terrorist force, as this pure blood reinforced the Iraqi national identity and united all Iraqis."
He continued, "We must always remember this innocent blood by preserving the victories achieved over terrorism and maintaining our national identity, and we must learn from the lessons of the past to avoid repeating such tragedies and massacres." Al-Kadhimi clarified that "corruption, mismanagement, and wrong policies are the reasons for these tragedies, and our unity, our institutions, and our national belonging are what will prevent the recurrence of such massacres." He concluded by saying, "We have directed the concerned authorities to expedite the distribution of entitlements to the families of the Spiker martyrs."
