Arrest of Those Responsible for Fake Coronavirus Vaccines

Indian media has revealed that two thousand individuals fell victim to fake COVID-19 vaccines in Mumbai, western India. The police received seven reports related to the incident and arrested 10 people, including a woman who was involved in providing vaccination certificates. The accused were charged with attempted murder, according to the Mumbai police, who stated that the fraudsters administered vaccines for the prevention of COVID-19 that merely contained saline solution. Vishwas Nanger Patil, the officer in charge of the investigation, reported that "we have recovered an amount of money obtained by the fraudsters through their fake vaccinations and have frozen the bank accounts of the accused." Patil also noted that the police discovered sites designated for unauthorized vaccination campaigns, offering individuals vaccines against COVID-19 that contained saline solution. The Supreme Court requested that the Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation ascertain the nature of the solution and evaluate the health of the victims who were injected with it, providing them with appropriate vaccinations. According to data from the Ministry of Health, India recorded 48,698 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The data indicated an increase in the number of deaths in India due to the virus, with 1,183 new fatalities recorded, as reported by Reuters.
