Increase in Iraqi Oil Exports to America

The U.S. Energy Information Administration announced that Iraqi oil exports to the United States reached 173,000 barrels per day last week. The report noted that "the average U.S. imports of crude oil during the past week from nine countries reached 5.751 million barrels per day, an increase of 621,000 barrels per day from the previous week, which was 5.130 million barrels."

It added that "the United States imported crude oil from Iraq at a rate of 173,000 barrels per day, compared to 163,000 barrels in the previous week." The U.S. Energy Information Administration further stated that "the majority of U.S. oil revenue during the past week came from Canada, averaging 3.971 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico with an average of 423,000 barrels per day, then Nigeria with an average of 264,000 barrels, and Brazil with an average of 261,000 barrels per day."

The administration pointed out that "the amount of U.S. imports of crude oil from Russia reached 256,000 barrels per day, from Saudi Arabia at 144,000 barrels per day, 137,000 barrels per day from Colombia, and 122,000 barrels per day from Ecuador."
