Washington: We Will Consult with Our Partners in the Region on How to Deal with Iran

The U.S. Department of State announced that the U.S. administration will consult with its allies and partners in the region on how to deal with Iran. The State Department added that it is confident there are tools to address issues outside the nuclear agreement upon mutual return to it. The U.S. State Department pointed out that Washington's other concerns, apart from the nuclear issue, have intensified, including Iran's support for its proxies in the region, noting that this subject will be on the agenda of Secretary of State Antony Blinken during upcoming ministerial meetings in Italy next week.

The State Department reaffirmed that Iran can never possess nuclear weapons, adding that a return to compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is not sufficient due to other concerning areas, including the proliferation of Iranian missiles. U.S. media reported that the Pentagon detected an unsuccessful Iranian attempt to launch a satellite on June 12. They mentioned that satellite images indicate the possibility of Iran launching another missile soon.

In February of last year, Iran failed to put a domestically manufactured satellite into its designated orbit in space. The sixth round of indirect U.S.-Iran negotiations in Vienna regarding the revival of the nuclear agreement ended on Sunday without reaching an agreement. The U.S. Department of Justice announced that the United States seized dozens of websites used by Iran and its militias in the region to spread misinformation. The Department of Justice stated that the United States seized 33 sites used by the Islamic Radio and Television Union, and three sites run by the Iranian-backed Kata'ib Hezbollah faction.
