Under the title "Important Message for Egyptians Regarding the Corona Vaccine... Especially Sinopharm," the Al Arabiya website reported that the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population issued a public awareness message to its citizens concerning coronavirus vaccines, confirming that all coronavirus vaccines are safe and effective and there is no need for fear or concern. The Ministry reviewed the effectiveness of the Sinopharm vaccine coinciding with the start of its local production in Egypt.
The ministry explained that Sinopharm is a vaccine that contains inactivated or dead parts of the virus and does not cause infection, but rather stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies to protect the body from future infections. It is administered in two doses of 0.5 through intramuscular injection into the deltoid muscle, according to Al-Watan newspaper.
The Ministry of Health and Population urged citizens to hurry to book their corona vaccinations, stating that registration can be done through the official COVID-19 vaccine registration website of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population. It warned against any entity promoting the vaccination of citizens with the coronavirus vaccine and confirmed that it will take all necessary legal measures against any establishment involved in such promotion.
The Ministry continues to raise the highest levels of readiness in all hospitals to monitor the epidemiological situation moment by moment and to take all necessary precautions against the virus or other infectious diseases. It urged citizens to seek medical attention early if any symptoms appear, especially for the elderly and those with chronic illnesses, confirming that all hospitals are prepared to receive any cases and denying claims that the ministry advised citizens not to go to hospitals.
The ministry also called on citizens to continue observing preventive measures such as wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, avoiding crowded areas, and not touching surfaces. If surfaces are touched, they should be dried, and people should refrain from kissing and hugging during greetings, opting instead for handshakes.
