The Korean Association of Automotive Engineers announced on Monday that South Korea will host the 37th International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS), known as the "Olympics of Electric Vehicles," in 2024. The EVS is the largest electric vehicle event in the world, organized by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) since 1969. It brings together global automakers and researchers to discuss key trends in electric transportation and advancements in cutting-edge technology.
The South Korean news agency Yonhap noted that this will be the third time South Korea has hosted this event, following the years 2002 and 2015. The Korean Association of Automotive Engineers also stated that its former president, Son Oh Myung-ho, a professor in the automotive convergence department at Korea University, has been elected as the new president of the World Electric Vehicle Association for the Asia-Pacific region.
