Lebanon Detects Cases of Indian COVID Variant for the First Time

Lebanon announced for the first time on Friday that it has detected cases of the "Delta" variant of the coronavirus, which emerged in India and has spread to dozens of countries. Health Minister Hamad Hassan, in the caretaker government, stated that 9 cases of the "Delta" variant have been recorded recently, all of which are among travelers from abroad. Hassan clarified that "the Ministry of Health's efforts are still focused on reducing and containing infections." He added, "We urge everyone to share the responsibility to preserve what we have achieved. Lebanon can no longer bear it. Vaccination and preventive measures are a duty for all."
