Chinese authorities announced that remnants of the stray rocket landed at a location with a longitude of 72.47 degrees East and a latitude of 2.65 degrees North. According to state television, the Long March 5B rocket disintegrated over the Arabian Sea after re-entering the atmosphere. Chinese media noted that the coordinates of the rocket debris fall were in a region southwest of India and Sri Lanka. They added that the components of the stray Chinese rocket fell into the Arabian Sea and were completely destroyed upon returning to Earth. Chinese state media reported that the Chinese manned space engineering office stated that parts of the Long March 5B rocket entered the atmosphere at 10:24 AM Beijing time (02:24 AM GMT) and landed at the location with a longitude of 72.47 degrees East and latitude of 2.65 degrees North. The office indicated that most of the debris burned up in the atmosphere. In Washington, the U.S. Space Command confirmed the fall of the Long March 5B rocket without specifying its landing location.
