An Egyptian cabinet statement announced that the council eased entry restrictions for hotels, restaurants, cinemas, and theaters on Sunday by increasing their occupancy capacity from 50% to 70% as COVID-19 cases slow down. The statement said, "Approval has been granted to increase the occupancy rate in tourist hotels, restaurants, cafes, as well as cinemas and theaters, to a capacity of 70% instead of 50%."
Egypt has been gradually lifting restrictions imposed to combat the spread of the pandemic since June 1. Official figures reported 181 new COVID-19 cases and 27 deaths on Saturday.
