Many users can now view photos and videos through the instant messaging application "WhatsApp" for one time only, a feature that many have been waiting for. The new service is still in the testing phase, as it is under observation in the beta version of "WhatsApp." WhatsApp, owned by "Facebook," aims to roll out this service to all of its more than 2.5 billion users worldwide.
In short, the new feature allows photos and videos to disappear automatically from the recipient's WhatsApp after a short period of time, provided that they are viewed just once. According to the tech site "WABetaInfo," which tracks WhatsApp news, the new service can be activated by going to "settings," where there will be a feature called "view once." This means that the receiving user will see the photos and videos once, and they will disappear from the chat history.
When uploading photos and videos to the app in preparation for sharing, the sending user must choose a new button that appears next to the text input box. The icon resembles the number "1" surrounded by a circle. The aim of this service is to reduce the pressure on the smartphone's memory, which is often cluttered with images sent via WhatsApp.
