Collision of Two US Navy Aircraft Over Texas

Two aircraft belonging to the US Navy collided during a training flight. The incident occurred nine miles south of Naval Air Station Kingsville. According to The Drive outlet, one aircraft crashed, but the instructor pilot and the student pilot managed to survive, while the second aircraft returned to its base. The US Navy reported that one of the pilots was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and the incident is still under investigation. The T-54 Goshawk aircraft are part of Training Squadron 22 (VT-22) "Golden Eagles," which is part of the Second Training Wing. The squadron trains pilots for the Navy and Marine Corps. According to the squadron, its pilots conduct an average of 10 training flights per week.
