Kim Kardashian sparked controversy after posting a painting which she claimed was created by her daughter, "North West," leading some followers to label her a "liar."
Kim commented on North’s painting that she shared on her "story": "My little artist, North." Several followers expressed surprise that a 7-year-old could create such a masterpiece in such a remarkable way, with one follower noting it resembled a painting by artist Bob Ross. Some defenders on Twitter argued that North indeed created the painting, with one follower mentioning, "This is the daughter of a friend of Kim's colleague, and I think they take painting lessons from the same teacher."
Kim shared a series of posts on her Instagram story directed at the media questioning her daughter's painting skills. In a statement shared via her story, she expressed: "Don't mess with me when it comes to my kids." She continued, "My daughter and her close friend are taking serious oil painting lessons where their talents and creativity are nurtured. I see opinion articles in the media and on social media from adults unraveling whether my child really painted this."
Kim questioned, "How dare you see children doing amazing things and then try to accuse them of not being amazing?" She urged, "Please stop embarrassing yourselves with negativity and let every child be great."
Kim also added, "They attend the same art class." She wrote, adding in another post, "Shout out to all the proud moms who love showcasing their children's masterpieces." Furthermore, Kim Kardashian shared some old paintings by Kanye, asserting that North has a high talent in painting, and commented on one of the posts, "Shout out to moms who love showing off their kids' artistic works."
