The English newspaper "Mirror" highlighted five players in the Premier League, including Egyptian star Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, whose contracts include a special clause related to the Ballon d'Or. The "Mirror" reported, citing "Don Balon," that "Mohamed Salah has a secret clause in his contract with Liverpool stating that if he does not win the Ballon d'Or at Anfield, he can request a transfer to La Liga (Barcelona or Real Madrid)."
It is worth noting that Salah's current contract with the English club expires in the summer of 2023, raising concerns about the future of the "Pharaoh," as a transfer to La Liga seems possible. Mohamed Salah has been an inspiration at Liverpool, helping the team win the Premier League and the Champions League since joining from Roma in 2017.
Apart from Salah, the newspaper, citing "Daily Star," mentioned that Cristiano Ronaldo's contract, who returned to Manchester United this summer, guarantees him a £1 million bonus if Manchester United wins the Champions League or if he wins the Ballon d'Or or the UEFA Best Player award.
There is another player in the Premier League with a clause related to winning the Ballon d'Or in his contract, which is Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara, who joined Anfield from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020, along with Portuguese Bruno Fernandes who signed for Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.
Recent reports also indicated that Manchester United's striker Anthony Martial has a special clause in his contract that allows his former club Monaco to receive £7.2 million if he wins the Ballon d'Or.
