The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced today, Friday, that Saudi defenses destroyed a drone that attempted to target Jazan City. The coalition had previously announced on Tuesday that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed two explosive-laden drones launched by the Houthi militias towards Jazan. The day before, Saudi defenses intercepted and destroyed an explosive drone launched by the Houthis towards Khamis Mushait.
The coalition stated that the militia is committing serious violations of international humanitarian law by attempting to target civilians. It also confirmed that it will deal firmly with sources of threat to protect civilians and civilian objects from hostile attacks.
It is noteworthy that for some time, this militia has continued its attempts to target civilian and economic sites in the Kingdom, prompting condemnation from several Arab and Western countries that reaffirmed their support for the Kingdom and its security, denouncing the Houthi terrorist attacks. These repeated and escalating Houthi attempts come at a time when the United Nations is trying to establish a ceasefire in Yemen to restart negotiations aimed at reaching a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
