Hariri Warns from Baabda for Each Team to Take Responsibility for Their Positions

The President tasked with forming the government, Saad Hariri, confirmed that there is a golden opportunity to expedite the government formation, warning that each team must take responsibility for their positions.

The National News Agency reported that after his meeting with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Palace, Hariri emphasized that efforts continue to save Lebanon and stop the deterioration, noting that there has been progress in the government file. Hariri explained to President Aoun the current golden opportunity and underscored the need to expedite the formation of the government. Following his meeting with Aoun, Hariri warned that each team must bear responsibility for their positions from now on.

Hariri reaffirmed his stance on forming a government consisting of 18 ministers without a blocking third. He added that the reason for his recent trips abroad is to restore relations with countries from which Lebanon has been absent for a long time, noting that Lebanon will not receive international support unless a government of specialists is formed.

President Michel Aoun received Hariri at 11:30 AM at the Baabda Palace, focusing discussions on the topic of government formation. It is worth mentioning that after nearly four months, consultations for forming the Lebanese government remain stagnant, without any sign of optimism, despite the active diplomatic efforts by Hariri abroad, starting in Egypt.

Hariri has sought to revive his foreign relationships in light of the stagnation in the formation process, which coincided with the circulation of a video clip of President Aoun from early January, accusing the Prime Minister-designate of "lying," which Hariri responded to with a tweet from the "Holy Bible" regarding "deceit and sin." On February 3rd, Hariri, who has been tasked since October 22, held discussions in Cairo with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and other officials regarding developments and general conditions in Lebanon before moving on to the UAE and France.
