A leaked audio recording of Mr. Hussein Habib, the father of singer Hossam Habib, has sparked controversy and surprise after being published by an Arab magazine. In the recording, he discusses his son's marriage to Sherine Abdel-Wahab and Hossam's mother’s disdain for her.
In the recording attributed to Hossam's father, he claims that his famous son controls all of Sherine Abdel-Wahab's financial accounts and withdraws whatever he wants. He added that Hossam should have a share of Sherine's earnings like that of her former manager, Yasser Khalil, especially since Hossam is currently not working and has distanced himself from the arts to focus on managing his wife's affairs.
The father continued by saying: "I know my son Hossam is very smart and not easy, so he definitely has something in mind and is securing himself." He also revealed his plan for Hossam to marry another woman to have children, stating: "I wish to have a grandchild, and I also want to have kids myself."
The father explained that Sherine might not be able to have children due to her age, saying: "Even if she doesn't have kids, a woman at 39 is close to 40, the chances of her having children are low, and they haven't had any in two years." He mentioned Sherine's trip to America, suggesting it was for health check-ups.
He added: "Why shouldn't Hossam marry secretly? I have thought of a good plan. I will tell him to get married and keep his wife with me, without telling Sherine, while he meets her here. He sometimes stays with his mother in Rehab. The important thing is that Hossam's wife stays with me."
Hossam's father also expressed his skepticism about his son's love for Sherine, saying: "I don’t know if he really loves her as he claims, or if he is smart enough to know that she is a capricious person and might ask for a divorce at any moment." He described Sherine as having the quirks of a celebrity, stating: "It is in his best interest to marry a younger, beautiful, and ambitious girl."
At the end of his remarks, he mocked Sherine's background, saying: "You feel he is sophisticated, and you feel she comes from a different environment, not from the same background." Notably, the last work of Sherine Abdel-Wahab was the theme song for the series "Lahm Ghazal," which aired last Ramadan, starring Egyptian actress Ghada Abdel-Razek.
