After securing enough foreign reserves at the Sudanese central bank in an attempt to curb the decline of the Sudanese pound against the dollar, Sudan is seeking to float its local currency.
Heba Mohamed Ali, the acting Minister of Finance, stated that the country is in talks with several parties to secure loans and grants. She added, "We in the government must commit to unifying the exchange rate, and the decision to float the currency will be made after ensuring foreign reserves at the central bank, along with economic policies that regulate supply and demand."
