Meta, the owner of Facebook, has announced that it is building a supercomputer that it believes will be the fastest in the world when completed in the middle of this year.
The company confirmed in a blog post that the supercomputer will benefit the company in artificial intelligence by building models capable of learning from trillions of examples, handling hundreds of languages, analyzing texts, images, and videos to determine if the content is harmful.
The company stated: "This will not only help secure our current users but also in the future, as we are building for the complete virtual world – the Metaverse."
The term Metaverse refers to the idea of entering a virtual environment via different devices for work, play, and social activities.
