Under the title "Not COVID-19.. A Surprise Regarding the Cause of Ahmed Khaleel's Death," the Al-Arabiya website reported that conflicting news has emerged about the reasons behind the death of Egyptian artist Ahmed Khaleel, who passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of nearly 80. It was initially said that he died due to complications from the coronavirus, but actress Nahal Anbar, a member of the Actors' Syndicate dedicated to health issues, revealed that the late artist was suffering from heart problems and died from "atrial fibrillation," according to her knowledge.
In television statements, the late artist's sister, Durriya Khaleel, mentioned that her brother contracted the COVID-19 virus while filming his last series a week ago, yet his condition remained stable, especially since he had previously received the vaccine. She explained that just hours before his passing, he experienced severe pain in his chest and left arm, and was taken to the hospital, where he passed away two hours after admission. The hospital report stated that he died due to a myocardial infarction.
His sister emphasized that during the time he contracted the virus, his condition was under control, with only normal fatigue and pain until the situation deteriorated in the last 24 hours. She noted that after complaining of pain in his left arm and chest, his treating physician requested his transfer to the hospital, but he arrived at midnight and died two hours later from a heart attack.
The late artist was buried after the funeral prayer on Tuesday afternoon, and the time for his memorial has not yet been set, with many members of the artistic community present at the burial.
