Qatar Secures Arab Cup Bronze from Egypt in Penalty Shootout

The Qatari national team achieved third place in the Arab Cup by defeating its Egyptian counterpart in the third and fourth place match on Saturday afternoon. After a "cautious" match from both sides that remained goalless for 120 minutes, Qatar and Egypt resorted to penalty kicks, which favored the "Qataris" with a score of 5-4. The match failed to meet the expectations of the fans, delivering a "dull" encounter overshadowed by caution from both teams and fear of conceding a goal.

In the penalty shootout, Egypt's Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Amr El Soulia, Ahmed Fattouh, and Akram Tawfiq scored, while defender Ahmed Hegazi and striker Mohamed Sherif missed. For Qatar, captain Hassan Al-Haydos also missed.

It is worth noting that the final match of the Arab Cup will take place on Saturday evening between Algeria and Tunisia at Al Bayt Stadium in Doha.
