Lebanese artist Elissa received a significant honor from the United Arab Emirates by having her image projected onto the Burj Khalifa in Dubai on Wednesday evening.
The images circulated widely on social media, with her fans expressing their pride and appreciation for this honor and this beautiful initiative. Elissa also shared several photos on her personal social media page of the Burj Khalifa illuminated with her image, captioning it: "Happening now."
Previously, the United Arab Emirates granted golden residency to Lebanese artist Ragheb Alama and his family, as well as to Lebanese artists Walid Toufic and Najwa Karam, in recognition of their contributions and high-quality art as a generous gesture.
It is noteworthy that the Burj Khalifa was illuminated with the Lebanese flag on New Year’s Eve 2020/2021, where videos of this historic moment circulated on social media. The Lebanese Ambassador to the UAE, Fouad Dandan, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE and its people, stating: "We take pride in this greeting and reciprocate it with the same and even better, with love, loyalty, and sincere brotherhood, wishing for the prosperity and safety of our sisterly Emirates."
