The "Riyadh Season 2021" events kicked off this evening (Wednesday) with an extraordinary opening ceremony attended by a massive audience of over 750,000 people, and millions followed the live broadcast on various television channels and online platforms, achieving the first success of its second edition. Turki Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Entertainment Authority, appreciated the unlimited support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for the entertainment sector and Riyadh Season, stating: "Our slogan for the first season was (Imagine), and for the second season, our slogan is (Imagine More)," adding, "As long as we have inspiring leadership that encourages every Saudi to elevate their ambitions and achieve their dreams."

The season recorded a remarkable success on its first day through performances, fashion, and music that formed icons for Saudi entertainment's transition to global carnivals. This included a display of over 2,760 drones, showcasing images of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, welcoming attendees in several international languages and displaying logos of regions and events for Riyadh Season this year.

The ceremony featured local and international activities, with massive fireworks lighting up the Riyadh sky, coinciding with other locations in the city, in addition to several live performances, a Samri dance show, carriage displays, and a flying man show, culminating in a concert by the artist "Pitbull," which many local and international fans eagerly awaited.

The activities of the first day reflected the spirit of the festival, which hosted a number of costumed teams adorned with colors, world-beat music, and the presence of several famous personalities globally, including the renowned wrestler Undertaker. The season's opening blended global artistic masterpieces, gathered at the event site through 88 food trucks offering a variety of cuisines from around the world, in addition to healthcare services and mobile medical clinics.
