Former Saudi Ambassador Reveals Attempts on His Life in Lebanon

Former Saudi ambassador to Beirut, Abdulaziz Khoja, stated that he faced three assassination attempts in Lebanon during his tenure, noting that he "cannot accuse any specific party of these operations." In an interview with Al Arabiya, Abdulaziz Khoja said, "I faced three assassination attempts in Lebanon... and I cannot accuse a specific party in Lebanon... during my work as ambassador." He also addressed the issue of drug smuggling, commenting, "It is shameful for an official to talk about drug smuggling to Saudi Arabia (due to the market presence in the Kingdom, as mentioned by the presenter about a Lebanese official)." The former ambassador expressed that he never imagined the relations between the Kingdom and Lebanon would be severed, as the Kingdom has provided assistance to Lebanon as a sister Arab state, considering that the Lebanese "have had enough of Hezbollah's control over Lebanon." Abdulaziz Khoja revealed the scale of assistance that the Kingdom has provided to Lebanon over the decades, highlighting that since 1990, the Kingdom has offered more than $72 billion in aid to Lebanon.
