A German court has convicted an electrician of serious and grave assault against several men after he castrated them "at their request," resulting in the death of one. According to the German news agency, a court in Munich sentenced the electrician, whose name has not been disclosed for privacy reasons, to eight and a half years in prison. Initially, the prosecution charged the man with negligent homicide, but this charge was later dropped.
The agency reported that the electrician admitted during the trial to offering "castration services on sadistic websites," stating that many men paid him for the procedure. During the trial, the defendant claimed he performed the surgeries on his kitchen table and told his victims he was a trained medical professional. He mentioned that he castrated 8 men between July 2018 and March 2020, but he denied responsibility for the death of a man who died days after undergoing the procedure, whose body was found by police in a box three weeks later.
Prosecutors had requested an 11-year sentence due to the serious bodily injuries inflicted by the electrician on his clients, while his lawyers sought a sentence of no more than seven years.
