Goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez saved three penalties from Colombian players Davinson Sánchez, Yerry Mina, and Edwin Cardona, while Lionel Messi, Leandro Paredes, and Lautaro Martínez scored to secure Argentina's place in the final.
Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring for Argentina just seven minutes into the match, benefiting from a pass from captain Messi. However, Luis Díaz equalized for Colombia an hour into the game with a shot from a challenging angle. The teams went to penalties after regulation time. Argentina will play in the final against their rivals Brazil, the defending champions and hosts, on Saturday night. Brazil had previously won 1-0 against Peru in the first semi-final match on Monday night.
