President Aoun: It Saddens Me to See Officials and Media Ignore the Constitution and Get Entangled in Nationally Harmful Statements

President Michel Aoun tweeted: "It saddens me that a large portion of Lebanese officials and media are ignorant of the constitution and get caught up in nationally harmful statements regarding the presidency, its role, and its oath. The presidency is outside the circle of targeting. The president initiates negotiations on treaties and international agreements, then concludes them with the Prime Minister and subsequently the Cabinet, and finally the Parliament, as stipulated by Article 52 of the Constitution."
