The Al-Husseiniyah Police Center in rural Damascus revealed details of a crime committed against a young man six months ago, following reports from his family about his prolonged absence from home. According to the Syrian Ministry of Interior, a citizen reported to the Al-Husseiniyah Police Center that his nephew had been missing for about six months after a dispute and fight with his brother, and that he had heard from a neighbor that the latter was digging a hole in his house, raising suspicions.
A police patrol went to the home of the brother of the missing person, and during the investigation, it was discovered that he had left for Lebanon about 10 days earlier. However, a flower bed was found in the home which neighbors confirmed had not been there before, prompting further digging that revealed the body of the missing young man.
Through the investigation, suspicion fell on the deceased's brother's wife, who confessed during interrogation that her husband had killed his brother due to personal disputes between them and had buried him in the house after informing their uncle. The uncle was arrested, and during questioning, he admitted to knowing about the murder of the victim and aided the killer by providing tools for digging and encouraging him to bury the body in the home.
A search for the murderer has been initiated, and investigations are ongoing with the arrested individuals, who will be brought to justice to face their punishment.
